Gates played three years of college basketball at Xavier and averaged 7.2 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. He is 21 years old and is a 6-foot-8 forward.
The Bulls also signed Jakarr Sampson who has played for three NBA teams. He started his NBA career with the Philadelphia 76ers, and then played for the Denver Nuggets. He is 25 years old and is a 6-foot-9 forward.
Last season he played 22 games for the Sacramento Kings and averaged 5.7 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. He also spent time last season in the G-League. Bulls fans might remember Sampson from getting postered last season by Zach LaVine.
