The Chicago Bulls played their first preseason game against the New Orleans Pelicans. How did the Bulls do against the Pelicans?
Despite it just being the preseason, the Chicago Bulls started the season with a win.
Jabari Parker had seven points and three assists. Bulls went to the free throw line 18 times in the first half. The bench had 26 first half points. Bobby Portis had nine points and four rebounds off the bench.
Rookies Wendell Carter Jr and Chandler Hutchison both made their Bulls debut. Carter had 11 points and seven rebounds, while Hutchison had seven points and four rebounds. I thought Carter and Hutchison made some nice plays.
In his Bulls debut, Jabari Parker finished with 15 points, eight rebounds, and four assists. I thought Parker’s ball movement was excellent.
Bobby Portis came off the bench and provided a spark for the second group. Portis finished with 21 points and five rebounds.
With Denzel Valentine injured, Antonio Blakeney got the chance to play. In 24 minutes of play, Blakeney finished with 21 points on 6-10 shooting. In the end the Bulls won the game 128-116.
Overall I thought the Bulls played really well. Obviously there’s a lot of stuff that needs to get cleaned up, but one thing we know for sure is that the Bulls are going to score a lot of points this season.
One preseason game down, four more to go. Next Bulls game is Wednesday against the Milwaukee Bucks.
