On Friday, the Chicago Bulls organization announced that several members of their front office got promoted.
The Chicago Bulls made some internal promotions in their front office. No, Gar Forman and John Paxson didn’t get fired. Both of them still have a job with the organization.
Brian Hagen has been with the Bulls for the last six years. He was the assistant general manager, but the team decided to promote him to associate general manager. Hagen is also the general manager of the Windy City Bulls.
Steve Weinman has also been with the Bulls for the last six years. Weinman was the manager of basketball operations and analytics, but now he will be the assistant general manager.
He will manage the team’s salary cap, and will be planning future initiatives. Bulls also said that Weinman will focus on pro scouting and draft personnel.
Many Bulls fans know who John Paxson is, but some may not know that he has a brother who’s name is Jim Paxson. Jim has been with the Bulls for the last 12 seasons. He was previously the director of basketball operations, but is being promoted to director of pro personnel.
Prior to coming to the Bulls, Jim Paxson worked in the Cavaliers front office for seven seasons. He was the one who drafted LeBron James.
Miles Abbett was the basketball operations coordinator, but now will be the manager of minor league scouting and analytics. Abbet will focus on the G-League and the international leagues.
The promotions are not a surprise because some of the members in the Bulls front office have had the same title for years. It’s promotion season.
